Legalisation (Authentication) of Documents
- Documents must first be authorised and stamped by the legalisation department of the Foreign and Commonwealth office in London.
- Original document and its copy should be presented to the consular department of the embassy.
- Documents to be authenticated are:
Certificates of Education, Birth, Marriage, Driving Licence and other similar documents.
- Fee
- For Ethiopian passport holder - £44.00
- For British and overseas passport holder - £68.00
Court decisions and orders and other pecuniary documents
- Fee
- For Ethiopian passport holder - £37.00
- For British and overseas passport holder - £57.00
Note: Payment can be made in cash, or by postal order or bank draft.
Foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin who have possess the Ethiopian Origin ID card, will pay the same price as native Ethiopians.
Time required for processing
Three working days must be allowed to process the Application.
